Whee!

I've just gotten word that our office is sending us on a study trip to Barcelona. I'm thrilled beyond belief. Having so many people recommend it to me, I've always wanted to visit. And I'm rather partial to Spanish wines. And tapas. And warm climates. So the last weekend in May, I will be in Spain under the auspises of studying. But I'm going with Irish, so really, what are the chances we'll only look at buildings? One co-worker is already researching pubs and clubs. I have a sneaking suspicion that it's going to be a fun trip.

And isn't this why I moved here? To be able to travel, which is really my passion in life? If I could only figure out how to get paid to travel, I'd give up architecture and never look back. Then again, it's gotten me here. I was walking across the O'Connell bridge last night after posting the St. Patricks Day photos and just shuffling them in my mind, thinking how cool it all looks in photos. And that I get to live this life. I realize that I'm still in my honeymoon period here, but I'm just so much happier. I love not having a car. I love that I can (and do!) walk everywhere. I like our little apartment and the village where I live. I'm even getting used to the grocery stores. I love walking down Grafton Street and seeing all the flowers for sale, down Henry Street and seeing the vegatable stalls. Ok, I miss Target, but I love the pub culture, even if I don't partake daily.
