You had me with your coffee

So I was watching TV last night after skipping Italian because I had to work late. (hey, I went to have a glass of wine at Enoteca, which is an Italian wine bar. That counts doesn't it?) Anyway, one of the stations here has a show called Gordon Ramsey's Nightmare Kitchens. http://www.channel4.com/life/microsites/R/realdeal/ramsay/nightmares_riviera.html

Basically, it's reality TV show where he (who has won several Michelin stars in his restaurants) consults in a restaurant on the brink of disaster. Or in some cases, so far over the brink of disaster they should be working in Jaime Oliver's school kitchens. The show last night took place in Inverness! Which is exciting in itself, since I've been there and loved it, but the really exciting thing is, I was at the restaurant they featured last night. True we only had coffee, it being 4 in the afternoon, but still. It was very exciting. 5 hot young French chefs trying to turn this hotel restaurant into a star rated restaurant. It's owned by a multimillionaire that is responsible for bringing KFC etc... to Scotland. This must be his penance...

Part of the fun of traveling is seeing places you've been on TV or in the movies so you can annoyingly point out to your friends "I've been there". BUT NO ONE WAS HOME!!! Luckily before the show was over, Flatmate Suzie came in and feigned much more enthusiasm than necessary for such a stupid event. She's a good roommie.

So that's it. Now I want to go back to Inverness. Like I didn't before... siiiggghhh..................

Up next: Paris!! Only 7.5 hours there before my first marriage proposal. I love Paris in the springtime.
