Huh... Who Saw That Comin?
This story is all over the newspapers today here in Dublin. My only thought, when I read the headlines was "Well, yeaaah!" Essentially, the man was a spy for the Protestant British government in the very Catholic Sinn Fein IRA. He was there for 20 years and 'retired' last year by coming out. All over the news. Photos, his name, his entire history. And for some reason, his death is supposed to catch us all by suprise. Yeah, sure. I'm suprised he was still in the country. I'm suprised he lasted this long. I'm very suprised he was hiding in his own home. This isn't a big country. There aren't a lot of people. I'd have gone to, at least, London where I could get groceries without anyone realizing who I was. Call me crazy but reading Spy vs. Spy in MAD magazine prepared me for that. Hell, Nancy Drew prepared me for that.

How many best selling novel/action movies have THIS EXACT SCENARIO as the opening sequence?
Maybe the problem is he's watched TOO MANY movies. Maybe he thought he was the hero of the movie instead of the expendable character whose death is the premise for the hero to go on an avenging killing spree.
