June Bank Holiday: An Update

Well, it's June bank Holiday this weekend and I'm in scenic Dublin. Irishtown to be precise. I went nowhere, after simply forgetting that I needed to decide on a place to visit and then book the trip. But that's fine really. The weather this weekend is incredible. I was actually out in sleeveless clothes! All my Texas gear is getting worn this weekend even if I have to change outfits hourly in order to accomplish it. I even had to put on sun block!! Yesterday I stomped around the city, taking pictures. I plopped myself down in the green and listened to the last couple of songs of a brass band and then read my paper. I met Yvonne for a coffee and then Joe for drinks. We ended the night doing a wee bit of dancing. He went out with a friend for Hair of the Dog and pretty much shaved the dog bald by the time I met him. He's so funny when he's drunk. (you are!)

Today, I'm heading down to DL to the market. It's been ages since I've been to the sea. It's been too cold the past few weeks. Last week it poured rain the entire weekend. It seemed like a good time to stay in bed and read. So I did. And now I've got to get back down there before I forget where it is. I feel sorry for all the tourists that came last weekend. We've had a rocky start to the summer.

Tomorrow I'm having a little BBQ here at the house. I'm craving a good steak so I invited people round only to realize that exactly 1/2 of them are vegetarians. I have no idea what I'm going to grill for them. Anyone got a good recipe for a mushroom marinade? I'm thinking of grilled portabello with carmelized onion and blue cheese stuffing. Anyone got an alternative for me? suppose I could do fish... I don't really know how but I'm good at winging it.

I'll post all the photos on Tuesday. Until then, have a great weekend.
