I think I'd been living in London about 4 years when I had my first "I'm a Londoner" moment, showing a friend around the West End.

I love London now. There's always something fun happening to head along to. The hardest part is that people you do meet, always seem to live so damn far away. I don't think it's take much longer for me to go to Oxford Circus for a pint, than to travel to yours.

Commuting to Edinburgh sucks. Hope to see you soon.

I think there's lots of awesome stuff to do in London if you don't know anyone, but it took me a few years to find it.

Stuff I know of:
Most Thursdays the Join Me group started by Danny Wallace meet in a central London pub.
There's a few weekly knitting circles (stitch 'n' bitch), and a bigger wandering one. But the on I used to go to near Angel has petered out.
There's a roughly monthly Pervasive Gaming night called Sandpit, where they play things like giant hide seek.
Life drawing sessions at LSE look fairly reasonable (but I've got round to it). Dr Sketchey's are more pricey, but look more fun.
There's a few monthly meet ups for SF geeks of various sorts (from general literary to specific media).

Too bad that yo yo and the others in his quartet were playing to a recording. They were afraid that the strings would break on the cello and the piano because of the cold. At least Aretha Franklin was live, but I saw her on Larry King and she said that the cold made her sing the song differently. Enjoy Florida.
