Ruby

I am in a supreme mood today. It’s the first good mood, honest-to-goodness-more-chipper-than-anything mood I’ve been in since I’ve come back from the US. I woke late this morning, as I usually do, only to realize I’d forgotten to set my alarm clock last night when I hit the pillow. Luckily I have alcohol induced insomnia, this type being that I sleep quite well but only for a few hours. So I woke at 9 and had 30 minutes to get to work. Plus, Flatmate Suzie is home for the weekend so we got to chat before I left for work. I was cheerful, she was too. It’s nice to putter around in the morning and have someone to chat with. So I’m singing Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs relentlessly and sailing on my good mood. I get to do an interiors project today, which is my professional version of play time. It’s a beautiful day, bright and sunny, just that little bit cold that will warm up in the afternoon, and I have a lunch date with Flatmate Suzie. I’m wearing my leopard print t-shirt and my new Jimmie Choo shoes, both of which make me happier than clothing should. Not a bad way to usher in the weekend.
